Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Surry Hills

Disappointing Stay – Wouldn’t Return or Recommend
I stayed at Adina Surry Hills over the weekend and sadly, my experience was quite disappointing. There were a couple of positives - the location is excellent, the room was spacious, and it was easy enough to find my way around the building. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweighed any positives.
Cleanliness was a major issue. The shower/bath had visible residue from the previous guest, the bed headboard had greasy hand and fingerprints all over it, kitchen utensils were dirty, and there were random hairs in the kitchen area and other parts of the room. The windows were also dirty, which made the space feel even less clean.
Noise was another issue - the air conditioning unit ran loudly all night and made it hard to sleep.
Service was also lacking. While the woman who checked me in was polite, the man on the front desk Saturday (who also handled my check-out) was rude and dismissive. I had three bags with me for both check-in and check-out, and no one offered a trolley or any help at any point.
Room service is provided by the restaurant downstairs, which I also tried - and I wouldn’t recommend it. The food was bland and cold when it arrived, and it was delivered in a paper bag like a takeaway order, which felt really impersonal and underwhelming for a hotel stay.
All in all, I wouldn’t return or recommend this hotel based on the poor hygiene standards, lack of customer service. With some proper attention to cleanliness and hospitality training, this could be a much better experience - but for now, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Overall, it’s a slightly older hotel with good sized clean rooms, in a great location with friendly staff happy to assist and facilities that work. Would recommend and will look at staying again on next visit to Sydney.

Exceptionally clean 🥳 truly one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed at recently. If cleanliness is important to you, you’ll be very impressed. The rooms are large, featuring kitchens and in-room washing and drying facilities, making it a perfect choice for longer stays or those who appreciate self-sufficiency.

If you opt for a room overlooking the pool, you’ll enjoy the lovely sight of planes arriving and departing. There’s also a warm spa downstairs and baths within the apartments – a wonderful point of difference you don’t often find these days. The balconies are super spacious (semi-private) and add to the relaxed, open feel of the property.

If you're looking for self-contained, serviced apartments, look no further.

A few things to note: the area is quite hilly, so having a car is a good idea. However, parking does come at a cost of around $50 per night. Surry Hills is known for its food scene, but as a Melbournian, I found the local eateries to be of fairly low quality, and it was surprisingly difficult to find a good morning coffee or nice café nearby. No one else had this issue. It must be a VIC thing.

Overall, Adina Surry Hills is an excellent choice for those seeking a clean, spacious, and well-equipped apartment hotel – just be prepared when it comes to dining options and transport.

Stayed for the Sydney marathon. Very convenient location for race day and lots of amazing food and drink options for post race celebrations.  Perfect rooms and friendly staff.. We will be back. Thankyou.

If you’re looking for a family friendly stay look elsewhere. Staff Consistently confiscating room cards left in the room, concierge who can’t inform you what the annual street festival 50 meters  away is. Stayed for 4 nights and would not recommend to friends and family if service and hospitality is important. Great location, so if you’re in your own maybe not an issue, but not a venue I will be taking the family back to.
